For grown-ups
How we choose games for children, what we leave out, and how to help your child play safely.
Our promise in the Kids area
- No ads and no sponsors. Sponsored placements never appear in the Kids area.
- No accounts, no tracking scripts and no chat inside Lumina. We design the Kids area to avoid collecting personal data from children.
- A grown-up gate (a quick sum) appears before a child leaves Lumina for another website.
- Favourites and mission ticks stay on your device only.
How we choose: the safety rubric
Currently 14 games pass. A game must meet every "Must" and is reviewed again whenever it changes.
| Check | Must |
|---|---|
| Violence | No realistic fighting, weapons as the main activity, gore or horror. Mild cartoon slapstick only. |
| Money | No gambling, loot boxes, ads or in-game purchases. |
| Contact with strangers | Chat or online play is never the default way to play. If it exists, the card says so and a grown-up decides. |
| Accounts | Playable without creating an account. Where an account is optional, we say what it adds. |
| User content | Community-made content is flagged. Games built around unmoderated servers are left out. |
| Learning value | Clear benefit: creativity, logic, coding, reading or fun that respects a child's time. |
What we leave out
We removed games with combat as the core activity, games whose main way to play is joining unmoderated public servers, sandbox tools with open user-made galleries, and anything with online gambling or purchases. Some of these remain in the main library for older players, with a clear note.
Age guidance
Where a publisher states an age range, we show it and say so. Otherwise the age is Lumina's editorial suggestion, not an official rating. You know your child best.
Tips for playing together
- Play the first session together and let your child teach you.
- Agree on time: most guides take 10 to 20 minutes.
- Download games only from the official site shown on each page.
- If something seems wrong, tell us. Report a concern
